ALPHA MUFFLER
The Alpha is our lightweight hydroformed stainless 2.5” muffler, designed as a moderate volume pipe that’s suitable for everything from vintage customs to modern sports bike commuters. With a highly effective yet easily removable baffle, the Alpha can be transformed from tame to wild in the space of a minute with an allen key and a set of pliers, allowing for drone free highway cruising or aggressive throaty mountain runs at a whim.
The process of hydroforming exhausts has been around for about 30 years, but has made significant headway over the past decade. Each Alpha pipe starts as a stainless steel tube that is put into a mould and internally filled with water at extremely high pressures to evenly fill the mould shape. Whilst being a highly labour intensive process, it allows for a natural upswept shape to work with most modern muffler placements, and removes the majority of welded joins across the muffler structure. This reduces the chance of weak points or inconsistencies in strength across the pipe, and also allows for thinner walls and better tolerances, particularly when finished with hydroblasting for added strength and corrosion resistance.
With baffle in, the bike sits roughly 3dB above most stock systems, allowing for fairly quiet morning commutes and long distance touring. For carbureted bikes, the baffled setup will also start easier (richer) and often improve low end throttle response with no other changes to the carbs. With the easy removal of the baffle through a single allen bolt fastener, the Alpha pipe goes from placid to predator, improving exhaust flow and allowing for better top end power with a roughly 5dB volume increase (dependant on the motor and many other factors). The note is both deep and balanced due to the internal acoustic environment of the hydroformed muffler constantly changing, minimising standing waves and a general “boxy” mid range note that’s common in so many free flowing mufflers. Available in hydroblasted stainless finish, black cerakote or burnt bronze cerakote.
Length - 390mm x 100mm x 75mm
Weight - 1.2kg
Intake Diameter: 62mm (2.5”)
Comes with springs, mounts and rear brackets for fitment, as well as a 2.5” to 2” ring adapter for use with all 2” Kelpi link pipes and full systems.
