HONDA CB400 VTEC SLIP-ON EXHAUST SYSTEM (2008-

from A$475.00

A key modification done on the CB400 VTEC platform is the exhaust, which is known to come off the factory line sounding like a mosquito. Replacing the stock can with one of our high quality free flowing slip-on exhaust systems brings the sound of the bikes high revving inline 4 engine to life, increasing mid range and top-end performance and moderately improving the bike’s power to weight ratio.

With 2.5-3kg of weight savings (dependant on which muffler is used), the Kelpi slip-on systems also clean up the visual styling of the CB400, removing the bulbous stock pipe which sticks out like a sore thumb on the bike’s rear end.

  • Includes collector link pipe, springs and removable baffle insert (Flanker only), with muffler selection also including muffler mounting hardware

  • 2” link pipe for slip-on fitment with all Kelpi mufflers

  • Exhaust system install with removal of the stock system can be done in under 10 minutes with basic tools (HEX set, sockets & wrenches, etc.)

Installation instructions:

  1. remove your existing muffler via the muffler clamp and rear mounting bracket bolt.

  2. slip the link pipe onto the existing header outlet and gently tighten the clamp, ensuring there is still play as adjustment will be required to set the desired position once the muffler is added.

  3. bolt the included S bend bracket onto the inside of the stock muffler mounting bracket (as can be seen in the product images). The S bend bracket should be snug but not torqued, allowing the bracket to rotate still.

  4. slip the muffler onto the link pipe and place the muffler in the desired position

  5. rotate the S bend bracket so that a bolt can fit from the muffler through the S bend bracket

  6. once the rear mount is torqued, tighten the clamp and add springs from the muffler to merge collector

  7. once the rear mount is torqued, tighten the clamp and add springs from the muffler to merge collector

After a minute’s running the protective layer of oil will have burnt off, and after your first ride the exhaust will take on a golden colouring.
